Saturday was our usual errands day. We grabbed lunch at Chipotle and then went to the roadside farm stand to get some fresh corn, cucumbers, and peppers. From there we went to Baskin Robbins and Gabriel was very happy to wake up from his nap at an ice cream place. Then we went to the Fresh Market for a few things (including burgers for dinner). We dropped the stuff off at home and headed back out to our main grocery store for our weekly shop.

After errands we headed home. I took a shower and Rob gave Gabriel a bath. We then cooked up the fresh corn and grilled out (I LOVE our new electric Foreman grill) the burgers. Dinner was delish. We had planned to watch one of our Netflix movies, but time ran away from us and it ended up being too late.

Sunday we did our last Renaissance Faire trip of the year. *snifflewah*. This coming weekend is their last open weekend and we won't be going because period + port-a-potties at the hot Faire don't mix well. So, this was our last trip.

When we got there we grabbed foodage (Gabriel got mac and cheese bites, Rob got nachos, I got a pippen) and then wandered around. Gabriel got to see the Spider Fairy again and I'm pretty sure he's in love with her. Later on in our wanderings we got some turkey legs, but neither of us ate more than a few bites because they seemed to be attracting bees. Rob ended up saving my life (literally) at one point.

I'm allergic to bees and wasps. One sting will send me into anaphylactic shock. I can't have an epi pen with me due to my heart problem. To make a long story short, the epi pen would send me into a "lethal arrhythmia". So, this means if I get stung I have to get into a hospital for treatment ASAP if I want to stay alive. Well, at the Faire I'm pretty sure that if I got stung I'd be dead. It would take an ambulance a long time to get there and into the Faire and then to get out and to a hospital (there's not one in the area).

Anyway, Rob got stung by a bee yesterday. He got stung to protect me from getting stung. So, by his getting stung, he saved my life. Luckily, the stinger didn't get stuck in his finger. However, that also meant the bee was still alive and pissed off so we ran like hell away from it. There was a first aid station at the Faire and they gave him a Benadryl, put some meat tenderizer on it, made sure the stinger wasn't there, and put a band aid on it. He said it hurt like hell, but he didn't have any worrisome reactions from the sting. I can only hope that Gabriel is like him when it comes to stings and not like me.

We headed out of the Faire around 1pm (shortly after he got stung) because it was a lot hotter than the weather channel predicted and we both felt like we were being cooked by the sun. We grabbed a few sliders from White Castle and headed back home.

When we got home I immediatly took a shower and then passed out for a little bit. Later on, we headed out to grab some Chinese food for dinner. I filled up my car with gas for the first time ever and noticed that I'm getting 30.3 miles per gallon. Sweet. Keep in mind that I have an SUV (though I don't understand why they get a bad rap - I'll have to post my thoughts on that in another entry at some point). We also watched Big Brother.

My Mom's coming back into town this week (Tuesday to Thursday) because she's a goddess. Sydney has a follow up vet appointment on Wednesday morning. We may or may not be getting Rob a new car this week.
