2008-09-05 8:37 AM Thinking It Over Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Pensive Read/Post Comments (8) I've given a lot of thought to the upcoming election, both before and after my last posting. I thank all of you who commented and am a bit surprised that no one else did. I know there are a lot of Obama crazy people out there and there has to be at least one Republican who reads my journal, right? Okay, maybe not. Either way, I'm surprised that only three people responded. I think what was stated in the comments was correct. I think I'll be giving my vote to Obama. I don't like him. In fact, I'm just as turned off by his charisma as many people are turned on by it. Something about him is just plain wrong. I don't think he has the experience needed and I don't think he'll make a great president (but anything is better than Bush at this point). However, I do think he's a better choice than the alternative. You want to know one of the things that made up my mind? Palin. I'm all for having a woman in the white house (finally), but not her. She scares the beejesus out of me. She has less experience than Obama, is a religious nutter, and if McCain wins she's just one heart attack away from becoming the President and screwing things up worse than Bush. It's hard to mess things up more than Bush has, but I'm confident that she could do it. She scares the everloving piss out of me and right about now, she is the reason Obama is getting my vote. I really wish Clinton had snagged the Democratic primary. I would have been happy to vote for her and probably would have tried to volunteer as well. Ah well. ----------
