Friday night we watched Saw 3. It wasn't as good as the first 2, but it was still very good.

Saturday we got a lot done. We headed over to a technical college in West Allis (right near the airport) to go to a charity lunch called Empty Bowls. For a donation, you get a hand crafted and painted ceramic bowl and then a lunch of various soups and breads. All of the donations go to local food panties and missionaries. Because this was our first time there, we opted to wait in line (for about an hour) so that we could pick our bowls out and not just get a random grab bag bowl. Gabriel was a bit fussy in line, but ended up falling asleep once we were at the front of the line. We all headed down and picked our bowls (Rob picked a dark blue one, I picked a leopard spotted one, and I got Gabriel a blue spotted kids one that's more of a cup than a bowl). We then headed in for the foodage.

Rob had gazpacho and a spicy Mexican corn chower. I had cream of mushroom and some of the spicy corn chowder. We both ate some bread as well. Gabriel woke up about half-way through our lunch and all he wanted was some of the cranberry bread. The event was a whole lot of fun and we'll definitely do it again next year. Rob commented on the amount of Obama shirts and lack of McCain shirts there. Seriously, there were so many people with Obama shirts on and not a single one with a McCain shirt on. I ended up donating double what they were asking. Times are tough for everyone now and food pantries and missionaries really need the money.

After the lunch, we did our errands. We went to Fresh Market to pick up or meats, eggs, and veggies for the week. We stopped at the drug store for my Rx. We stopped at another drug store for some other needed items. Then we did our main grocery store shop.

After coming home from our errands, Rob and Gabriel stayed at home while I went to the cemetary to visit Eleanor and Harold's grave. One year ago Saturday (October 11) Eleanor passed away. I brought along a little fake fall flower thing to put in the ground in front of their headstone. I was all right on the way there, but completely lost my shit at the cemetary. God, I miss her so much. I'd give anything to have one more day with her - especially with Gabriel around. People lie. It doesn't get any better, the wound never does heal, it gets easier - but the wound is always there.

At some point, I need to get a tattoo for her. I don't know what and where yet, but I need to.

I thought I'd be all right on my drive home. For the most part, I was. And then... Silent Lucidity came on the radio and I lost my shit again. I had to pull over to the side of the road during the song. I'll post the lyrics in a separate entry. Though somehow, even though I was bawling my eyes out, that song did make me feel a little better.

I finally went back home and we all headed out to grab dinner (from a cajun place) and came back home to game.

Sunday we got more errand runs done and took Gabriel for ice cream.

When we got into the car, we noticed that our iPod car plug was dead. I was able to figure out that it was a problem with the wiring inside. So, we needed a new one of those. We headed out to lunch and then made a stop at Best Buy. Gabriel had fallen asleep, so Rob ran in while I waited in the car with the sleeping Poopchuck. He picked up a new iPod car connector (the kind that plugs into the outlet in the car, charges the iPod, and lets you play the iPod over the radio) and a portable hard drive. Our desktop computer is on it's last leg and we want to put our iTunes on the portable drive so we don't lose everything when the desktop goes belly up.

We then headed to a giant pumpkin on the State Fair grounds that was a Halloween store. I got some spirit gum and Woochie horns that I'll probably wear on Halloween because there are no costumes in the size I need for my fat ass.

From there we headed to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. Gabriel really liked his usual chocolate ice cream, but also really liked my pumpkin ice cream. He kept scooping ice cream out of my cone. Too cute.

Then we headed back on a few other stops and went home. We cooked stir fry and watched The Amazing Race.
