We're back home (for now) and will be heading back to my Mom's on Thursday so that Gabriel can go trick or treating on Halloween night and go to a costume party on November 1.

Here's the update on what's been going on with me while I was away at my Mom's.

Saturday, October 25

We got up early, packed, got the apartment in order, and headed out. Before heading out to my Mom's we made a stop at the bakery so that Rob could pick up the birthday cake he ordered for me, stopped at the post office to mail out some bills, and stopped to fill up Rob's car with gas. We then got on the road.

On the way to my Mom's place we stopped at McDonald's for lunch and actually ate inside and not in the car. Much to our surprise, Gabriel was very wel behaved.

The drive to my Mom's house wasn't bad at all and we got there around 3:30pm. We unpacked and she made chili for dinner.

Sunday, October 26

My 34 birthday. Rob and I headed into downtown Galena while my Mom stayed at her place with Gabriel. Instead of getting a new tattoo, I got my fish redone. Before, it was wrinkly and blurry and didn't look very good. This was due to a reaction from mixing two colors and brands of ink together. My fish was dark blue (and that part was so mottled) and light blue. Gary (my tattoo god) redid it so that it's now purple and pink. It looks amazing. It hurt worse than any of my other tattoos because that area has been overly sensitive ever since I originally got the fish tattoo done back on July 4, 2003. It looks much better and I'm hoping it heals normally this time. It was worth the extra pain to have it looking good again. Unfortunately, I tried to get a "before" picture, but my camera couldn't focus on it at all. Meh. So, there is no "before" picture. I haven't tried an "after" picture yet because it's still healing.

I will be going back there to get a Chinese phoenix down the outside of my right thigh and a Chinese dragon down the outside of my left thigh at some point. He said to book for six hours for each tattoo. *meep*

We headed back home to get my Mom and Gabriel and then headed out again. We made a quick stop at Wal*Mart so that I could get some gauze and tape and then we headed into Dubuque to go to the House of China for dinner. Dinner was yummy and Gabriel was super well behaved.

On the way back to my Mom's house I wanted some cherry brandy, but we couldn't find any stores that were open and had it in. Later that night we watched The Amazing Race.

Monday, October 27

Today was Piggy's second birthday. Piggy is a stuffed Pluffie that is Gabriel's all time favorite lovey.

We headed over to Dubuque for the afternoon because my Mom had a house showing. On the way there we stopped at a liquor store and I was able to get my cherry brandy. We went to the mall in Dubuque and picked up a really cool looking dark red winter jacket for Gabriel at Baby Gap. We then spent some time at the mall's indoor play yard and let Gabriel run wild.

When we were done there, we headed to downtown Galena for dinner. We had dinner at Backstreet and I got an amazingly yummy cajun rib eye. Once again, Gabriel was super well behaved.

After dinner we went back to my Mom's place, got some laundry done, and watched Heroes and Scream Queens.

Tuesday, October 28 (today)

Today we headed back home. The drive back was uneventful and we made a quick stop off at Blackhawk Meats to grab some filet mignons to cook for dinner tonight. We got back to our place around 4pm. We're in for the night and are planning on watching House tonight.

You Are 96% Feminist
You are a total feminist. This doesn't mean you're a man hater (in fact, you may be a man).
You just think that men and women should be treated equally. It's a simple idea but somehow complicated for the world to put into action.
