The other night, while watching How It's Made (a TV show that I love) one of their segments was on how hatchery chicks are "made". I watched the segment and was horrified and disgusted by what I saw. I've heard the term "factory farming" before, but never thought it was literal.

These poor chicks. They're treated horribly and I felt sick to my stomach watching the segment. Instead of hatching to see a loving mother, they come out only to see the glaring lights of a factory. Then, they're rolled down a conveyer belt and tossed (literally tossed) down chutes depending on their gender by uncaring factory workers.

I used to be a vegetarian because I thought it was cruel to murder animals. Now I'm leaning that way again because of how cruel the entire animal's life is! Look at what these poor souls go through, only to be murdered 30-65 days after their terrifying birth.

How can people do this to another living creature???

There are meat products in our house, and I will eat them. I'm not going to waste food. However, I'm not sure how much more I'll be buying from here on in. The reason I started eating meat again was because of health problems that I had. But now... I don't know.

I'm not asking anyone to make a lifestyle change, but please, watch the video so you know what's going on.
