2008-11-17 9:13 AM Bad Flu Shot Reaction Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Worried Read/Post Comments (2) Saturday night we chilled out around the house when we were done with our errands and we watched a Netflix movie called Dead and Deader. It's was a Dean Cain zombie movie and was actually fairly decent. Sunday we headed to visit with my Nana for awhile. She's going well, however, she has a nasty open and infected wound on one of her toes. No one seems to know how or why she got this, but I'm wondering if her blood sugars are being monitored well enough. I know she's diabetic and that diabetics can get foot problems if their sugars are wonky. Gabriel started getting fussy and my Uncle Kim and Aunt Pam came by to soak her foot, so we headed out then. We got Chinese food for dinner, but I wasn't feeling great and only had a few bites. We watched The Amazing Race. As the day went on, I started feeling worse and worse. I noticed that the injection site from where I got my fly shot was red, swollen, and warm to the touch. I was having all over body muscle aches and my head was killing me. It literally felt like there was a horrible pressure in my head and that my brains were going to ooze out my ears. Last night I was a wreck and this morning I wasn't much better. This morning I still had a horrible headache and body ache, but I was also super dizzy. I took an Aleve which zapped the headache completely and got rid of most of the body aches. I am, however, super tired and still rather dizzy. Rob called the pediatrician's office where I got the flu shot and they seemed concerned about my symptoms and want me to see someone. So, I'm being referred to an internal medicine guy since the only doctors I have at the moment are an Ob/Gyn and an orthopedic surgeon. He spoke to his boss and is getting the afternoon off so he can drive me to the doctor's appointment (there's no way I can drive while this dizzy) and watch Gabriel. Both Rob and Gabriel are fine and neither of them are having any reaction to the shot, so I know it's not a bad batch or something like that. I have no idea what's going on, but this sucks. The dizziness is horrible and I can't stand it. Hopefully, this won't be a big deal. I hate going to the doctor's office, but I think right now it's needed. ----------
