2009-03-17 9:36 AM Very Fun Weekend Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (0) Friday night we chilled out around the house and did some gaming. Saturday: Saturday morning I had to get up early because I had a hair appointment. Kylie, my hair goddess, is pregnant and she's due this Friday. So, this is the last weekend she'll be working there for awhile. She's going on maternity leave. I got my hair trimmed and colored and she and I talked a bit. I'll be seeing someone else while she's on maternity leave with her little girl. After the hair appointment I headed back home and got Rob and Gabriel and we headed out on errands. We made a run to the pet food store to get some wet food for Sydney (Wellness pouches) and then went to Pick N Save for our main weekly grocery shop. We then came back home and my Mom arrived. Rob was going to be gone out east for a few days for the baptism of his brother's new son, so my Mom came into town to give me a hand around the house and so that I'd have some company other than Gabriel. Rob took off to the airport and my Mom and I chilled out around the house and then made a run out. We did some driving around and looked at houses and condos and then grabbed a pizza to bring home for dinner. We chilled out around the house at night and played with Gabriel. Having my Mom here overnight rocked. She took Rob's spot in the bed and Gabriel slept in the middle. It was like having a sleepover and we ended up talking a lot before even falling asleep. Sunday: When we all woke up, Gabriel was super happy to see his Nana. I got the coffee going while my Mom got ready. Once she was ready, she let me head back to bed for a bit. I'm still sick and the exhaustion is killing me, so she let me sleep the morning away. I needed the sleep and even though I ended up getting a lot of it, I was still tired when I got up for the day. After getting up I got ready and we headed out. We took Gabriel out for ice cream at the Baskin Robbins over in Wauwatosa and then stopped at the grocery store for more Scooby Doo "rogurt". Gabriel loves that stuff. We grabbed dinner from The Olive Garden and headed home to eat it. Sunday night we watched The Amazing Race and The Apprentice. When Gabriel fell asleep we headed to bed and talked again with the TV on before falling asleep. I love being able to talk to someone in bed before going to sleep, but Rob is pretty much narcoleptic, so I can never do it with him. When his head hits the pillow, he's fast asleep and snoring. My Mom is like I am and can't immediatly fall asleep, no matter how tired she is. Monday: Monday morning my Mom got ready and I started the coffee. After she got ready I was going to get a bit more sleep, but Rob came home. He had an early morning flight back. My Mom took off shortly after Rob got here and I took my shower and got ready. Once I was ready to go, we headed out. We made a run to the DMV so that Rob could renew his driver's license and then we grabbed some lunch at Quizno's. We came back home for a bit and then headed out again for me to go to my doctor's appointment. The appointment went well. My blood pressure wasn't as high as it had been. At my last appointment is was 160/90 which is super high, even for having white coat hypertension (I'm afraid of the doctor's office, so my bp always shoots up when I'm there). This time it was 138/90 which was still high, but not worrysome since I was scared of the doctor's office. I took the breathing test and was able to blow a 600, which was even better than I did last time. This meant that my non-steroid pills are controlling my asthma! It seems that the wheezing I had was from the cold/flu that I came down with. So, I'm staying on the non-steroid pills for now. Just to give you some idea about the difference of me being off the steroids, I've already lost 9 pounds since I was switched off of Advair and onto Singulair. How cool is that? After the doctor's appointments we made some runs to various Targets, Wal*Marts, and a Toys R Us looking for some Littlest Pet Shop stuffies that Gabriel wanted. We're using them for things like potty training incentive and the like. We grabbed dinner from Chili's and then headed home when we were done with errands. We gamed some and watched House. Today: Today things are back to normal and boring. Oh, I talked to the doctor about my sickies and he said it's not a cold, it's a bad strain of the flu that's going around. Symptoms mimic a cold but you also get severe exhaustion and dizziness (about what you would have with mono). Even after the symptoms have passed, the dizziness and exhaustion can last 2-8 weeks. Ugh. He recommended lots of rest. Yeah, right. ----------
