I got a call from my dad the other day and he wanted to check and see when we could make a trip down to Chicago to visit for a weekend. He called me! With an offer for us to visit! I'm shocked and very happy about this.

He asked about this weekend, but the timing was too close and I'm trying to set up plans with my Aunt Mitzi for this Sunday (it's in the air right now). I have a hair appointment the weekend after that, so we're going to try for the first weekend in May. He said he'd check things and get back to me, but to block it off our calendar for now.

So, we have a very good possibility of being able to visit my dad sometime in the near future. I'm super happy about this and hope that the plans stay solid so that Gabriel can see his grandpa again.
