2009-04-21 9:07 AM Movie and Idea Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (0) I forgot to mention in my last entry that we watched the Netflix DVD of Twilight on Saturday night. I have all four of the books (my Mom got them for me last Xmas), but have not yet had the time to read them. I can only hope that the books are better than the movie was. My god, it was a whiny pretty boy emo fest. And apparantly vampires glitter in the sunlight. Um... yeah. It was bad and cheesy and somewhat painful to watch. Please tell me the novels are better. The other day I got a flyer in the mail for an MCLE seminar. It's three seminars on GAL training (guardian ad litem). While I only need 4 more hours for my WI MCLE's (haven't even started my CA ones yet), I think I'm going to take all three seminars. The basic one is the morning of May 14, intermediate is the afternoon of May 14, and advanced is all day on May 15. I would LOVE to be able to do GAL work. For those not in the know, a GAL is the person appointed to the child in cases of child custody, abuse, etc. You're pretty much the person who is there to determine the best interests of the child. I've done some research and in my county, it's a volunteer position. My plan of action is to take all three MCLE classes, then contact one of the speakers to see how I can do this. I know I'll need training and then I can volunteer in my county. You just need to be an attorney either living in or working in the county you're applying to. If I can do this volunteer work, then maybe I can get a foot in the door and try to get a position as a family law attorney (which is one of the areas of law I would LOVE to go into). It's worth a shot. It sounds like something I would be happy doing and in this economy I need to do something to make contacts and get noticed. The only problem is the expense. I'd be making nothing from being a GAL and yet have to find a way to afford the gas for the commutes (there's a lot of driving around) and daycare for Gabriel on an already super thin budget. I'm not going to worry about that for now though. Step one is taking the MCLE classes. ----------
So you need Healing (44%), Knowledge (20%), Inspiration (20%), and Strength (81%)?
Archangel Michael is the Angel of Miracles who strengthens the spirit during difficult times or dangerous situations. He inspires patience, truth, righteousness, strength, faith, and motivation. His fundamental mission is to rid us of the toxins associated with fear, increase our ability to face up to challenging dilemmas and to give guidance and direction for people who feel lost or stuck with respect to their lifes purpose or career path. Michael bestows those that have to do battle in their day to day life with the armour of unshakeable faith and confidence. Those battles may take place in court, in the form of competition among athletes, on the schoolyard, or in the attempt of protecting ones children and loved ones. He is the Patron Angel of soldiers, policemen and fire-fighters, guiding and guarding them as they protect us. Michael's symbol is the halo, representing the purest energies of the crown chakra. Focusing on the themes of non-judgment and successfully "navigating" within the ethereal realms (for telepathy, channelling, conscious ethereal travel, etc.), Michael is the first Angel to step forward to offer his assistance.
