We Should Have Done The Turkey

Thanksgiving (at least the dinner part) went nothing like we had expected.

During the day we headed to McDonalds for lunch where Gabriel was very happy because they gave him two toys with his happy meal and because we let him get an ice cream cone. We then drove around a bit to look at houses and to show my Mom the campus for the public school system (she had never seen it). She thought it looked very nice and much like us, liked the fact that all of the schools are on the same campus.

Later on we got all dressed up and ready to head to Fleming's for a nice steak dinner. We called Fleming's back in October to see if they were open on Thanksgiving. They said they were and so we made 5pm reservations. We headed over there... and they were closed. This was not cool. If we had known they were closed, we would have cooked a turkey dinner. So, we called around places and finally found out that Buca di Beppo was open. So, our Thanksgiving dinner was pizza. Joy. But, half a pitcher of sangria and the company (my Mom, Rob, and Gabriel) at least made it fun. Rob left a message for the people at Fleming's and they called back this morning.

Apparently the girl that had taken our reservations was fired a few weeks ago for not understanding how to make reservations. She told us they were open and when she found out she couldn't put a reservation in the computer for Thanksgiving (because they were closed) she put it for tonight (the day after Thanksgiving) and just marked it as us coming in on Thanksgiving. So, thanks to her, we got pizza for our Thanksgiving dinner. Lovely. The person who called Rob was the current hostess and said the manager should be calling us sometime today. Hopefully, he or she will.

After dinner we came back home and watched our DVD of Saturday the 14th. It's a campy old cheesy horror/comedy.

This morning I got to sleep in again (yay) and my Mom headed off to visit with my Nana. She'll be heading home from there (boo) and I miss her already.

The Megalomaniac
Ambitious, Intelligent, Calculating

The Megalomaniac is the most prestigious of super-villain classes. If anyone is ever going to rule the world, it will probably be you.
Your main goal in life is power and domination, you have the tools to do it, and you know it. Megalomaniacs are intelligent and forceful, and they tend not to let their emotions cloud their judgment. Most of the time. They are usually found, or not found, working at the top of a huge structured organization, though many prefer to work by themselves.
The Megalomaniac has but one flaw, but its an invariably fatal one; arrogance. He knows that he can take over the world, and he isn't afraid to let you know, often elaborately and in great detail. They often do not foresee the fly in their ointment, because they do not want to admit that such a fly could exist.
Sample Megalomaniacs: Dr. Doom, Lex Luthor, Ras al'Ghul, Kang the Conqueror, Emperor Palpatine, Brain
