2009-12-21 9:09 AM Weekend Errands, A Headache, And Some Busted Ribs Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: So-So Read/Post Comments (3) Saturday morning I had my salon appointment. I got a few more highlights put into my hair and got it all cut even so that I can try to grow it out a little bit. Right now it's about chin length, I'm considering growing it out to shoulder length (though I'll still get it trimmed every time I go in, which is about every 6 weeks or so). I brought a pink teddy bear I had gotten from Vermont Teddy Bear for Kylie's daughter when I went there (along with a larger tip for Xmas). After getting my hair done, it was time for errands. We stopped off at Taco Bell for lunch and then went to the game store so that Rob could get this months D&D book. We then headed to The Fresh Market and the drug store for some of my prescriptions. We made a stop off at home and then headed back out to Wal*Mart and Pick N Save for our main grocery shop. For dinner we made a run to a local Chinese restaurant (Stir Crazy) and brought food back with us. Saturday night I got a major headache. I took some migraine meds before bed, but they didn't do much of anything. Around dawn, I put a migraine ice on my head, and that didn't do much either. Sunday morning, I was pretty much incapicitated. My head hurt so badly that I could barely get out of bed to go to the bathroom. It hurt so bad that all I could do was lay in bed and cry from the pain. It was horrible. Around noon, I took a vicodin (I have a prescription for them) and finally a little after 1pm I was able to get out of bed and function. I still had a headache for most of the day, but it was only a headache and not a crippling migraine where I thought my brains would ooze out of my ears and my eyeballs would burst. When I was functional, we headed out to make a stop off at Walgreens and then got a late lunch/early dinner at the Chancery. We ate in and Gabriel was fairly well behaved during dinner (though he did burst his balloon and wasn't too happy about that). After dinner we came back home and watched the finale of Survivor. Even though he was a dick, I was rooting for Russell since he played the game from the beginning and better than anyone else did. He was one of the most amazine players on that show ever. Later that night, Rob, Gabriel, and I were horsing around. Gabriel got a bit too rough and ended up kicking Rob in the ribs... hard. For awhile, we didn't know if we'd be going to the ER or not because Rob was in a lot of pain. He took some ibuprofrin and the pain went down a bit. On the pain scale, he said it started off as a 9 and by the time we were ready for bed it was around a 6. This morning he said it was around a 5. Hopefully, he'll head into the employee health center today to have it checked out. We don't think he broke a rib or anything like that, but some of the cartilage in there might have gotten messed up. Not sure what, if anything, can be done for that, but maybe they can at least give him some pain meds. ----------
