Mom got into town just fine. While the weather was horrific yesterday, today it was mostly just rain. The roads were icy in some spots, but she went slowly so all in all it wasn't too bad. When she got to the area she stopped to visit my Nana and then headed over to our place.

Meanwhile, while she was on her way here, Rob, Gabriel, and I went to Fresh Market to pick up tomorrow night's dinner. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, carrots, rolls, and a yule log for dessert. We also stopped at a wine shop and picked up a bottle of Jordan Chardonnay to have with dinner tomorrow night. Jordan is my absolute favorite brand of wine. They make both a chardonnay and a cabernet. C'est magnifique! We also grabbed a pan for the turkey at Pick N Save and then brought Burger King home for lunch.

Once Mom got here we chilled out around the apartment for a bit and then got dressed up and ready for dinner. We headed to Fleming's for dinner. Rob and I split the seafood appetizer for two and Mom got a salad. We all got steaks for dinner (Rob's came with scallops) and for dessert Rob got cheesecake and I got fresh berries and cream. Gabriel had some bread, mac and cheese, and chocolate ice cream. He was very well behaved. We ordered a bottle of Jordan cabernet with dinner and I also had a glass of sambuca with my berries. Dinner was amazing. I love Fleming's and while there are no Morton's out in my area, there is Fleming's so at least I can get prime steak somewhere.

Due to the snafau that happened on Thanksgiving, they were going to comp our entire dinner (which came to four hundred and some dollars). My Mom tried to tell them no, but they absolutely insisted. So, dinner was free (though my Mom did give the waitress a VERY large tip). She seemed very happy about that. Dinner was amazing and we had a great time, I even got a wee bit tipsy.

After dinner we came back to the apartment and have DVDs of Aqua Teen Hunger Force playing since Gabriel really likes that show. We want to try and get him to go to sleep, but he won't. Even promises of Santa coming when he's asleep aren't working. Oy.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. Oh, and I finally found out who got us the mysterious box of meat and cheese - it was John. So, if he reads this - thank you John!

You would own a lance. Jousters are almost always of noble stock, so you are probably pretty popular. You are also a good leader and very smart. Jousters are also reckless, but very brave.
