Injured Toe

I hurt my toe really badly yesterday. I was tired and hit my little toe on my left foot with the bathroom door as I was opening it. Ouch. I ended up breaking the toe, taking half the toenail off, and pretty much killing the rest of the toenail. I'm hoping that what's left of the toenail stays on. Foot injuries on people with blood sugar issues are never a good thing.

I've broken all of my toes several times before and the little toe is no exception. Those get broken the most. There's really nothing that can be done for a broken toe, but the sad thing is that the nail problems hurt way worse that the broken toe part. I barely feel that the toe is broken, the nail is what's hurting like hell.

So, I'm limping around and in a whole lot of pain, mostly from the nail issue. Gah. Last night I took some pain meds before going to bed just to get it to stop hurting so badly.

While the pain meds helped with the pain, they didn't help me get any sleep. I don't know what's been going on, but I've been getting horrible sleep recently and last night was no exception.

I slept in ten minute intervals or so, woke up, couldn't get back to sleep for over an hour, and then slept for another ten minutes or so. I think, maybe, I got about an hour of sleep total and that hour was constantly interrupted. I'm completely exhausted today and everytime I stand up, I get so dizzy that I worry I'll pass out. Not fun.

I've been sleeping poorly for the past few nights and my daytime exhaustion just keeps getting worse because of that.

At least tomorrow is Saturday. That means I can try to sleep in if needed.

You're Milk Chocolate
You tend to be in your head often, like the kid daydreaming in class who has trouble concentrating because you're always thinking about what's next for you-- whether it's plans for the weekend or long term goals. You're a hard worker when it comes to reaching those goals, but you also try to savor every bit of the way that helps you get there.
