2010-06-01 9:16 AM Memorial Day Weekend, Berek, & A Bad Virus Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Content Read/Post Comments (0) For Memorial Day weekend, we headed out to my Mom's place. On Friday we did our weekly grocery shopping in the morning, came home and packed, and then headed out a bit before noon. We made a stop off at Wendy's for lunch and while there was a detour, the drive was good and rather uneventful. We took my car out there and so I was the one to drive this time. When we got to my Mom's place we unpacked, chilled out, and made a quick run out to the grocery store. Her store had something in stock that ours doesn't - the diet Trop A Rocka Snapple that Bret Michaels designed on the Celebrity Apprentice. My god, that stuff is good. When we went back to her place we had dinner (seafood salad and caesar salad) and then chilled around the house and watched TV. On Saturday we headed into Dubuque. We made a run to Border's and got Gabriel some new books (two Elephant and Piggie books and one Pigeon book) and then we headed to Best Buy so that my Mom could pick up her computer. We had dinner at House of China and on the way home made a Walmart run where Gabriel decided he wanted a lightsabre. When we got back to my Mom's place, we just chilled out around the house. On Sunday we were lazy and spent the day around the house. We headed into Dubuque for dinner and had dinner at the Dubuque Mining Company. The food was all right, but I don't think it's a place we'll be going to again. When we got back to my Mom's place we did some laundry while chilling out. Monday we got up early and headed out of my Mom's place before 11am. There was the detour once again and we once again grabbed lunch at Wendy's. I drove home and when we got home we unpacked and switched over to Rob's car to head head out to the airport to pick up Berek. His flight got in about ten minutes early and we were there waiting for him just past security. It was great to see him again. We headed to the TGI Friday's at Miller Park for dinner because we know that Berek likes baseball. The Brewers aren't playing while he's here, but he was at least able to see the stadium. On the way home we stopped off at The Fresh Market and then headed home. When we got back, we had the computer on and it was having some serious problems. Apparently it had gotten a nasty virus that shut everything down and kept trying to open porn sites. Rob and Berek worked on it and they got most of it out so it's disabled, but there might still be parts on here. So, for now, the computer should be in good working order, but we'll need to have it completely cleaned out down the road. ----------
