Wednesday Rob had off of work, so we chilled out and did some shopping. Our main stop that day was at Toys R Us to pick up presents for John's kids and to grab some Sing A Ma Jigs for Gabriel. He loves those things, but I won't pay more than normal retail price for them. I was surprised that both Survivor and Hell's Kitchen had new episodes that night (though Survivor was one of those lame clip shows) and so we watched those.

Thursday, Mom came out to our place for Thanksgiving. During the day, Rob, Gabriel, and I went to visit my Nana. Mom was already there. We stayed there for over an hour and then finally headed out. Good lord it was hot in there. The temp in her room was reading 82 (and she was still bundled up). I don't know how she or her roommate can stand those hot temps.

When we headed out, Mom came with us. We headed back to our place and got ready for dinner. We didn't want to cook, and so we had reservations at Seven Seas. It's a bit different than I remembered it from when I was a kid and it smelled like old people. Could be because almost everyone there was over 80.

Dinner was fantastic. Only Rob got turkey. My Mom got a filet and I got the goose. I've never had goose before and I loved it. Gabriel was well behaved, but I think that had a lot to do with the fact that he had his Nintendo DS along with him and was able to play video games during dinner.

After dinner we headed back to our place, chilled out around the apartment, and watched The Apprentice (which also surprised me that they would air a new episode on Thanksgiving).

Friday, Rob had to head into work, but Mom was still here. We got a lot done that day. In the morning, we took her car into the Lexus dealer for its 30k mile service. I followed along so that she could hop into my car once they took her car. From there, we made a stop off at Sam's club. We bought some things and when we were done checking out, Gabriel said he wanted a hot dog. We were both surprised, since this is the kid that doesn't eat and almost never eats any meat other than chicken nuggets. But, we got him one anyway. Much to our surprise, he ate a good amount of it... and he liked it! Seems he wanted to try it because of the Pigeon character in "The Pigeon Finds A Hot Dog". It's always nice when he's willing to try something new and actually eats it and likes it.

From there we headed to Best Buy. One of my Mom's Xmas presents to Gabriel is going to be a new netbook since his is barely working any more, but the had a really small stock of them, so we decided to check online later in the day. Gabriel did end up with two more DS games though - a Pokemon Ranger game and a Kirby game.

We then grabbed lunch at McDonalds (I got a Hello Kitty watch with my Happy Meal) and headed back to my place for awhile.

While there, we checked the internet for a netbook for Gabriel. We ended up getting him a blue Vaio netbook (same model as my pink one) from a place called Abt. I had never heard of it, but my Mom knew it well. Apparently she and my Dad had bought a lot of their TVs there back in Chicago.

We got the call that my Mom's car was ready and I drove her over there to pick it up. While I was there, Alan taught me how to take off the annoying maintenance reminder. Woot. We drove back home, I parked my car, and we took her car out.

We made a stop at Toys R Us and were able to find more Sing A Ma Jigs that Gabriel didn't have, including the rare Toys R Us exclusive Santa one. Sweet. She made a stop at Fresh Market and then we headed back home. When we got home, Rob was there already.

We decided to head to Olive Garden for dinner. Heh, I almost forgot what it tastes like warm since we usually get it as take out. Dinner was good and once again Gabriel was well behaved thanks to the power of his DS. Hooray for video games.

After dinner we headed back home for the night.

On Saturday my Mom headed back home. Rob and I got some errands done that day. We headed to the Fresh Market for some groceries. I headed to Kohl's on my own to pick up something for Rob for Xmas (though most of my Xmas shopping is being one online this year). We then made a stop at Menard's for a new shower head. Our old one was a super cheap one that our landlord had installed. It sucked, had no pressure, and had recently cracked. So, instead of getting a new cheap one installed, we decided to get one that we would actually like and one that would rinse out my hair in less than five minutes.

We made a pit stop off at home and then headed downtown to grab dinner from Casablanca. We got take out and ate at home and the watched my Netflix rental of the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. The remake was good, the script was good, the deaths were good, the only thing bad about the movie was the casting of Freddy. The actor had no personality and the character fell flat. That was a huge disappointment. If Englund (or anyone with acting abilities) had been in that role, it would have been a great movie, but Freddy just wasn't scary. He was... boring.

Sunday we got the rest of our errands done. We did our main grocery shopping at Pick N Save and made a run to Target for some Xmas supplies (tree lights, new ornaments, wrapping paper, bows, tape, etc.).

For dinner we got takeout from Asiana and that night we started a new game and watched the Amazing Race.
