Today was my first day back to work in six weeks. It was really strange to be back. It was also pretty weird to have to get up and get ready, with a small child. My wonderful co-workers had breakfast for me, so it was really nice. Of course it was difficult to leave Jade at the daycare center, but I went and visited at lunch time. She did well. She is learning how to make the most interesting little faces.

Here is a brief summary of the past week. My mom came to visit last Thursday. She spent lots of time with Jade, and we all went shopping a couple times. Otherwise, very quiet. Saturday, Shelley and Ken came to visit. We went out to a dinner theater, much fun. I got to see Ken's new laptop, and the film of his very cool flight in Albany. Finally got to meet Jenn and her friend Sarah. I very rarely ever meet women who have such similar tastes as I do! Jenn has a lot of the same tastes as I do, right down to Final Fantasy. Mostly we ate. Mom left on Monday, very sad. (Jade says "Grandma, move to Texas.) I learned a lot from my Mom. It was really good to have a professional in the house! Shelley and Ken left on Wednesday. I pause to mention many thanks to everyone for all the great stuff you all bought! Jade got new clothes, toys and lots of love. And Shelley and Ken made this great gift basket with food, candy and pictures. (mine is on my desk at work!)

I also will say that Paul is wonderful. He has been really great with Jade and they are just so cute together!
