Today we made one of our first home improvements. We installed a programable thermostat. Actually, Paul did all the work. We also replaced almost all the lightbulbs with energy savers. This is the first of a few projects I have planned. Hopefully Paul will not have to do much for the rest of them! The next project I have is to varnish the front door. After that will be ceiling fans, landscaping...so much to do, so little money! The landscaping will be the most fun for me. The former owners left us a big pile of brick, so I can build flower beds that match the house. Paul also came up with a great idea for the little space between the house and garage doors, a little palm tree. It should look pretty good there. I want to plant flowers in front of the house too. I think it will look pretty.

In other news, not much really going on. I have been sick since Wednesday. Cold, flu or something. Paul has been a real trooper, taking care of me and watching Jade. Jade is good. She has had a rough week at daycare. 2 bites and 2 bumps to the head. Four days we came home with notes. Of course, true to her nature, Jade was far more upset by the cure then the wound. She didn't cry for any of the bumps, but when they tried to sit her down and put an ice pack on her, she started to fuss. She hates to sit still! Cheers to my mom too, she made the cutest Mets outfit for Jade!
