The last few weeks have been a complete blur. My mom came to visit for 10 days, and is was just too short. Jade turned six, and got her first grandma decorated birthday cake. It was a barbie doll cake and she absolutely loved it. she also got her much wished for American Girl doll. Which Mom and I promptly went into craft store mode and bought a bunch of patterns for it. I have way too many craft projects going on right now. Mom also helped Jade sew her own pair of shorts, work on puzzles, decorate cakes, and so many other things. I think they both had a good time.

I also have a new job. Still with JCPenney, different position and different area. I am nervous, excited and frustrated all at the same time. (Frustrated at not knowing everything on the first day. Its hard to learn a new job!)

And today was the first day of the new school year. Jade is going into first grade. She was so excited about seeing her friends again. She met her teacher on Friday night, Mrs. Rose, and I think it will be a good year. Soccer starts on Thursday. We still have to look into swimming lessons. At least that will give me some time to work on those knit and crochet projects!
