Grandma's Journal

Amy and I went to the baby shower yesterday and it was 40 minutes late getting started. The mother 2 be, wanted us to wait until all of her guest that RSVP got there to play the games...or maybe she just wanted those free gifts for the baby? "I only have one thing to say to other's that are putting on a baby shower/or party, Never Ever wait for the late guest as it punishes those of us that are on time!"
WELL- As it turned out Amy and I played 2 games (I won one of the games) and we left, as we still had to get home, change to go to our hockey game and I still had to feed my mom before I left for hockey...decided to stop at the noodle place on road 68 and pick up some fast food for my Mom...she loves noodles and rice...by the time we got home I had 15 minutes to feed mom, get myself dressed for hockey and out the door we went. by the time I was walking out the door, my Mom had half of what I gave her on the plate already ate.

We had a full house at hockey. Only one seat was empty in our section. We won our game and only one guy got hurt and unfortunitly it was one of ours. At the end of the game he was using crutches. Not good with only one regualr game left to play (Tuesday evening) and Play - Off's start this Friday!

My day is almost over with and I am so ready for some quite R & R...my hubby is sick and heading to bed, and my mom just got done refolding her clothes that I had washed and folded. (I never do a good enough job) Gee and I fold them just like she does. oh well, it gives her something to do. This is the first time I had seen her active in 3 days!

Well now as the sun goes down, I must head downstairs and work somemore on my taxes. Need to get them done!

Grandma's Journal My Journal I became a Grandma at the age of 49 years old. Well I was actually only 17 days from being 50. My baby girl gave me gave me my first grandchild. He was a beautiful bouncy boy. Then 2 years later she surprised me on my birthday at 5am by waking me up and telling me "Happy Birthday Mom!" Time to get up we are going to the hospital and having a baby today! I told her NO that's tomorrow. It took a little bit for her to get it through my groggy head that she was going to be giving me a birthday present! and she totally did. She gave me a dark hair beautiful little grand daughter. Now I can enjoy spoiling 2. I have decided that the best thing in the world is being a Grandma! There is nothing that come close to that! I have been married for 30 years to a man that lives for his family. He only wants the best for all of us and spoils us all! He is a good man that works hard for his dollar. We have a pretty good marriage to say the least. Well it must be if we can put up with each others faults this long! My mom who has Alzehimers lives with us and has been for almost 3 years now. She is in the finally stages of the disease and still hangs in there. She loves to grab the broom and sweep. She does this everyday, and several times a day. I keeps her busy. She will even sweep the counch or the kitchen table if you let her. My oldest daughter is going to be 34 years old this year and hasn't lived at home in 16 years. I spend as must time as I can with her. But it is never enough. She plans on coming home to live and take care of us in 7 years. I cant wait! It's my dream to have her home. She is a dear friend to me and we have a great relationship. she always tells me that I am her best friend.

A friend of my oldest daughter made it for me, and she did a beautiful job.
