Grandma's Journal
My Journal

I became a Grandma at the age of 49 years old. Well I was actually only 17 days from being 50. My baby girl gave me gave me my first grandchild. He was a beautiful bouncy boy. Then 2 years later she surprised me on my birthday at 5am by waking me up and telling me "Happy Birthday Mom!" Time to get up we are going to the hospital and having a baby today! I told her NO that's tomorrow. It took a little bit for her to get it through my groggy head that she was going to be giving me a birthday present! and she totally did. She gave me a dark hair beautiful little grand daughter. Now I can enjoy spoiling 2. I have decided that the best thing in the world is being a Grandma! There is nothing that come close to that! I have been married for 30 years to a man that lives for his family. He only wants the best for all of us and spoils us all! He is a good man that works hard for his dollar. We have a pretty good marriage to say the least. Well it must be if we can put up with each others faults this long! My mom who has Alzehimers lives with us and has been for almost 3 years now. She is in the finally stages of the disease and still hangs in there. She loves to grab the broom and sweep. She does this everyday, and several times a day. I keeps her busy. She will even sweep the counch or the kitchen table if you let her. My oldest daughter is going to be 34 years old this year and hasn't lived at home in 16 years. I spend as must time as I can with her. But it is never enough. She plans on coming home to live and take care of us in 7 years. I cant wait! It's my dream to have her home. She is a dear friend to me and we have a great relationship. she always tells me that I am her best friend.

I love Lighthouses, and I collect them. I added a beautiful homemade lighthouse quilt to my collection in November 2008. A friend of my oldest daughter made it for me, and she did a beautiful job. I will treasure it always.

My Saturday

There is never any rest for the weiry! I seem to be the every ready battery, go and go and never slow down.

Actually managed to start my day off with a shower insead of ending it with a shower today. So that was really nice. Amy called me while I was in the shower, to see if I wanted to run to town with her. I said yes, give me 10 minutes!

So off I ran to get dressed, run upstairs to make coffee and put some breakfast on the table for mom. Got her dressed, and fed and out the door in 10 minutes.

Carson told me that we were going to the bank to count his money, I asked him if I got to go with him, and he told me yes. As we were walking into the bank my cell phone goes off, and its Cindy asking me where DesiRy was, I told her home, and as I am walking in the door to the bank I see Girl Scouts selling Cookies and I figured it was Cindy and the girls, so I hung up on her! To my surprise there were NO girls I knew and NO Cindy. Needless to say I am now feeling bad, and I tell Amy I need to call Cindy back and as I turn to go outside, Carson starts throwing his fit that he wants Grandma to stay with him. So Cindy is forgetten for the moment. While we are waiting to conduct the business we need to do, here is Noe. After a hug, and I tell him I hung up on poor Cindy, to please explain that I didn't do it on purpose I just got confused, and thought she would be right inside the door! He says he will tell her. yeah right, by the time he walked to the car, he forgot! So Cindy please forgive me for hanging up on you.

After Carson put his change in the change counter, Grandma had to take him to the teller to put his receipt in his account. Gee he is richer then I am!

Off to Walmart in Pasco to shop for food, and Easter basket stuff, it was lunch time, and we went to Nothing But Noodles and then to my sister's house. We didn't stay long there as we had to get home so Amy could Nurse DesiRay and I had some laundry to do and feed mom.

Now it is off to hockey in an little bit. oh yeah, we won our 1st Play Off game last night against Everett. It went into overtime which is a killer on us old people as my heart didn't stop racing, and I couldn't stop holding my breath! It was also a Burger Ranch night, which means we scored 5 goals in the game. So Neil was happy about that, as I gave him my ticket! So he got a hot lunch on his way to work!

Tonight is Amy's night to cook and she is making fried rice and kabassa. I will eat a little with some fruit and salad.
