Grandma's Journal
My Journal

I became a Grandma at the age of 49 years old. Well I was actually only 17 days from being 50. My baby girl gave me gave me my first grandchild. He was a beautiful bouncy boy. Then 2 years later she surprised me on my birthday at 5am by waking me up and telling me "Happy Birthday Mom!" Time to get up we are going to the hospital and having a baby today! I told her NO that's tomorrow. It took a little bit for her to get it through my groggy head that she was going to be giving me a birthday present! and she totally did. She gave me a dark hair beautiful little grand daughter. Now I can enjoy spoiling 2. I have decided that the best thing in the world is being a Grandma! There is nothing that come close to that! I have been married for 30 years to a man that lives for his family. He only wants the best for all of us and spoils us all! He is a good man that works hard for his dollar. We have a pretty good marriage to say the least. Well it must be if we can put up with each others faults this long! My mom who has Alzehimers lives with us and has been for almost 3 years now. She is in the finally stages of the disease and still hangs in there. She loves to grab the broom and sweep. She does this everyday, and several times a day. I keeps her busy. She will even sweep the counch or the kitchen table if you let her. My oldest daughter is going to be 34 years old this year and hasn't lived at home in 16 years. I spend as must time as I can with her. But it is never enough. She plans on coming home to live and take care of us in 7 years. I cant wait! It's my dream to have her home. She is a dear friend to me and we have a great relationship. she always tells me that I am her best friend.

I love Lighthouses, and I collect them. I added a beautiful homemade lighthouse quilt to my collection in November 2008. A friend of my oldest daughter made it for me, and she did a beautiful job. I will treasure it always.

6 days since my last entry

so much has happened since I last wrote in here....

I think I want to start with last Friday...9/4- I was getting ready to go to town with my daughter and she gets a phone call. The person wants to talk to me, it's Dawn from the Girl Scout Retail shop in Richland. The job that I applied for is mine if I still want it? "gee do I still want it" you bet I do...So I offically start on Tuesday after Labor Day.

On Labor Day we are going to have a Crab feed! We invited family and some friends over. Before the pot luck feed my very best friend in the whole world comes by to show me her new car, and her puppies. I feel in love with 3 of them...The 1st one she tell's me someone else already has spoken for it...ok, let's move on...we picked out 2 more, but I dropped the ball in my husband's lap that he gets to pick which one he wants as I picked our last one "Zeus"...it took him awhile to decide but he finally decided on one....We named him "Puck" only because Carson named him first! So with Carson being able to say his name that is what it is! Puck slept all the way thru the night in our bed, actually during the night he pushed me out of bed, and I ended up sleeping in the chair in the livingroom...Puck gave us 2 small messes in the morning, but that was ok...gee what do you expect from a little puppy....yesterday and today Puck ran around outside with Neil and Carson doing yard work and working on cars. He loves being outdoor playing with the big dogs and with Neil...

We got a new USED car for Neil to drive to work..it's a 95 Buick...it has been taken care of so it is in read good condition...so Neil and Bryan was busy working on it today, as it has sat for 3 years....I haven't been for a ride in it yet, but that is ok...

as for my job...well I am working part time in the Richalnd Girl Scout Retail shop...the first day the Cash Register scared the hell out of me...it was like the monster was coming out to get me!!! Today was a little easier...I am enjoying getting out of the house for 4 hours every day...

Mom is adjusting to me being gone for those few hours...it really isn't to bad, as Neil is here...and Amy has been coming over and checking on her Grandma, which is a big help to me...

Hockey starts tomorrow night, and for this I am really excited as I love hockey....so I will get off work, get home right before Neil leaves to get that KISS, and feed mom and spend a few hours with her before I head out to hockey....

So don't get mad if I get busy and don't journal like I should...Yes I am asking for forgiveness now!!!

Puck just got his first bath from us, and he is now ready for bed. So night all!
