I'm in Arizona where they claim it is cool enough for a jacket when the evening temps hit 78. The "high speed Internet access" in the hotel is actually a 26.4 dial-up line (which is about what we were using back in 1987). I've called 5 times to try to get the real high speed access fixed, but to no avail. Meetings all day, unappealing Mexican food for dinner. More of the same tomorrow, though I hope to find a better choice of restaurant.

I did see a blazing RV on the side of the road between here and Phoenix - the highlight of my trip. It did not make the news, which has been concentrating on the rather bigger fires in CA.

Books: finished Say When. It had a happy ending, which usually pleases me, but this one seemed too easy. And here I complained about watching 25th Hour and not getting the happy ending I wanted. There's just no pleasing me.
