Overheard at work today - "This year her birthday falls on May 1st." Is there some additional effect of Daylight Savings Time that I'm not aware of? Does leap year affect April or May? Won't her birthday *always* fall on May 1st??

Seen on the way to work - "I don't eat anything with a face". So does that mean that if he (it was a guy, I checked) discovered one of those National Enquirer-type Elvis's-face-on-a-potato that spuds would be permanently off the menu? If he has a female significant other, does she always feel that something is missing from their relationship?

Life chronicles:
1. Rebecca stayed home from school today. She had had enough of outdoor ed and was determined to feel sick this morning. Amazing how she had bounced back by this evening.

2. The lilies have started to sprout - just far enough for the deer to have a tasty snack.

A really tedious day, overall.
