Caitlin is in pediatric intensive care at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She tried to kill herself last night by taking an overdose of at least three medications. She's stable, but on a ventilator and completely sedated so that she won't pull any of the tubes out. Her lungs are not working correctly, her heart rate is too low and she's not breathing on her own. She'll stay on the ventilator at least over night, although there have been concerns about pneumonia today.

I was with her last night and have not any sleep since night before last, so this is probably not entirely coherent. I wasn't even going to write this, but realized it helps me just to write the facts down. I recorded a lot of little details while I was at the hospital with her today and will enter them here at some point.

They never tell you this when you're having babies.
