Even in cars where they’re adjustable, they cut and bind and sit at an awkward anatomical place. There is, of course, no option to go without, so I just keep hitching them up, down and all around in the hopes of finding a comfortable spot. I’ve even go so far as to use one of those sleeves that fits over the belt to make it fit kids in booster seats better, but that is an annoyance and creates its own brand of chafing. Since I don’t remember the Jetsons wearing seat belts - they must have had an improved air bag-type technology that protected them in the event of a crash. Yet another advancement that I think we should be actively researching. That, and a negative calorie hot fudge sundae.
Today I walked into my boss's monthly all-day staff meeting 40 minutes late, all because I decided to take a two-day break from reading email, during which time we were informed that the meeting, usually scheduled to start at 9:00, was going to begin instead at the inhumane hour of 8:00. He told me doesn't fire people for being late to his staff meeting. The first time. He was joking. I think. My brain is already on vacation apparently.
