Does Lindsay Wagner look like a sleep-deprived crack addict on that commercial she does for some sleep system? It’s for a fucking mattress, for pete’s sake, and she looks as if she hasn’t slept since Carter was president! Just an observation, of course.

My radio station is moving to a new building next month. As part of this momentous occasion (in addition to continual pleading for funds to buy espresso machines and Herman Miller chairs for the new offices), they are asking listeners to vote for their “Top Ten Favorite Songs of All Time”. They will then compile the list of the top 885 songs and play them when they move into the new studios. I started with my iTunes catalog, figuring that most, if not all, of my favorite songs are in there, even if not the specific versions I like best. I have tried and tried to winnow my list to ten, but cannot get below 31. I subtract a couple and then think of two more that have to be on the list. Note that the list is “favorite” songs, not “best” songs. I realize that many of the songs I love are not great songs, nor are they musically among the best written or executed. They are, however, the songs that evoke a deep reaction from me, the ones I will always listen to on the radio, the ones that have been played the most in iTunes. But I still can’t get below that damn 31 number.
