Something to ponder: I read, in fact I WELCOME books by new authors, and I sure in heck do NOT read books that I read back in the 60s and 70s but, like a number of people, I listen to and still like the music of my youth. Every generation gripes about that, don't they, to the older folks? I've turned into an older folk.
So why is it? Why do I still like to listen to everyone from Crosby, Stills and Nash to James Taylor to Joan Baez? Yeah, I've found new people in the last 20 years, er, 30 years - I listen mostly to musicians from like the 80s and maybe the 90s, but why does it work with music but not books? Why am I not reading the books I read back then and I'm still into the music I listened to? The music still works, the books don't? (I'm not sure about that last part, just yet.)
