So I looked at Stu this morning and I said, said I, "hey there are two stories in the paper today that talk about yo-yos"
We have a thing about how you won't hear about something and then suddenly it's everywhere - you know the one, right? For several months a while back it was "Antietam". In crosswords, on tv, in books, just out of the blue. So he comes over and I show him (giggle, giggle, snicker snicker) that there is a story in the news section about a local kid who made it to the Yo-yo national competition. And over in the arts section, is a story about how cellist Yo Yo Ma will be performing with the Seattle Symphony. Heh. heh. And then Stu says "hey, now all we need is a mention of Yao Ming. (the 7 foot whatever Chinese basketball player, in case you haven't heard of him). And without missing a beat, I opened the sports section to show him the story, which I'd read about 10 minutes earlier, about Yao Ming marrying a member of the Chinese women's basketball team. (and who's done a tv ad where folks greet him with "Yo!" and he says "no, Yao" and well you get the drift....) Well, I thought it was a riot! Maybe you hadda be there.... Thankyou, thankyou vermuch.... Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
