Goddamit. That sucks.
I know it is pointless howling at the moon and protesting things that I cannot fix, but I’m just seriously pissed off at this news and I’m going to howl and pout and kick anyway. Feel free to join me or to duck into a corner. Word has reached me that Terry Pratchett is reporting that he has been diagnosed with a very rare form of early onset Alzheimer’s disease. See http://www.paulkidby.com/news/index.html if you want it in his own damn words. To quote the man, he “aten’t dead yet” so shut up everyone but dammit ALL. Pratchett's 59. The man’s a fucking genius and has made so man of us laugh until it hurts and he keeps doing it, on and on beyond zebra. So I’m mad, because the dickheads of the world are not suffering nearly enough and are not facing nearly enough nasty crap and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE could this not happen to Fred Phelps instead? (if that rings no bells, consider yourself lucky. I don’t want to remember this bastard’s name but I do. This scum of the earth is the “god hates fags” guy who pretends to be a preacher of some kind. He is pure vomitous evil.) But instead we get this fabulous guy (by all reports) with a list of books longer than most, almost any one of which is a damn gem and some really really shine and I’ve never been let down by any and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten through one without laughing, smiling, snorting, all at once or separately. This sucks wads. And I’m smart enough to know there are all sorts of reactions to Alzheimers and all sorts of medical advances blah blah blah, but right now, in a week where one of my friends died from cancer, and I’m having such a hard time walking that it’s gotten really beyond frustration, this simply SUCKS WADS of phlegm. Eu. That’s gross. Sorry. But that’s how peeved I am at this news. Not a good week, shall we say? Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
