A very small yay because after SIXTEEN FRIGGING DAYS of that crap, I got out of the house. Finally. Really. With the help of Stu and our friends Loren and Lauryn, I got out Sunday to a party (yay) (i was an end of the year 2008 mixed blessings party. I don't think it was officially named that but hey, come on....isn't that what you'd say about 2008?) and yesterday, I did the Greater Greenwood Errand Run, getting out to all the highlights: post office, bank, drugstore, grocery store. Oh yeah, and Monkey Grind for a latte. The Wonder Stu had brought be coffees twice during my durance pretty darn vile, bless him, they were the yummiest lattes ever but going out in the world required a starter drink.
Now if only all those freecyclers who said "Yes, after the bad weather eases" and the ones who waste my time saying yes and then not showing up show UP and as soon as I can really really get to the movie theater because goddamit I haven't gotten out to see "MILK" yet and I gotta gotta, oh PLEASE, I gotta, then I'll feel truly better. Meanwhile, I've got some stuff to read and review, and on New Year's Day, Stu and I have plans to attend a taping of the radio show "Says You!" (be thrilled and applaud and cheer for us even if it's not "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" okay? It took a bit of work to get the whole wheelchair seating dealt with) and to go out to eat oh please let there be something open downtown on New Year's Day (there is, we've checked) and oh PLEASE could all the damn snow melt because it's still not fun going five blocks when there are patches of ice and slush and snow on the sidewalks and curb cuts? So how were your holiday celebrations? We didn't really have any, but the presents were fun. I have a new gorgeous chenille top in a color I've never worn - a sort of gold honey and I'm really tempted to wear it for everything for the next few months, it's so pretty.
