Those of you who know me through mystery fandom may have met me at Bouchercon. That convention, the World Mystery Convention, was begun by three science fiction fans who, essentially, decided that Worldcon and other sf cons were so much fun that hey, we've got a barn, let's put on a show for mystery. And Bouchercon was born, thanks to the late Bruce Pelz and June and Len Moffatt. And named after Anthony Boucher, the quintessential uberfan, author, reader, reviewer, enthusiast.
Word is out that Len died this morning. It does not seem possible. Len and June were (to use a word that the Gret Lee Child once used about me) a "fixture" in mystery conventions and fandom. Here's a link to the obituary from File 770, posted very recently. http://file770.com/?p=4846 Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
