2005-11-28 8:20 AM Part 2 Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (4) Okay, so his mother is alright. In fact, I like her. Her worst characteristic, in my opinion, is that she is ultra conservative. ULTRA. We got in trouble for bringing a carton of eggnog into the house. You know - that stuff that they sell, during the holiday season, RIGHT NEXT TO THE MILK. Yeah, who knew it was evil?
Evidently the fact that it can be mixed with alcohol is enough to send it to the "forbidden" category. I suggested they get rid of all of the water in the house too.....didn't go over so well. Pffft. But yeah, that and her love of "things" are the two biggies. Let me explain the "things" comment. She collects. Things. I don't know what...all sorts of things. Which is fine. I collect things too. Mostly books. And stuffed bears. And cool coffee mugs. BUT...if I were low on money (assuming anything that I collected was worth money...which it isn't) I wouldn't hesitate to get rid of some of these things. To complain about being low on money but to be unwilling to sell things? I don't get it. Other than that, she's cool. We can sit and talk for hours. Days. As long as we avoid the the topics of money and alcohol. And anything remotely sexual. Or religious. Or political. Okay, so as long as we talk about the weather, we're fine. I'm finished now. Promise. Unless you call me. Something to think about: "There's a hell of a distance between wisecracking and wit. Wit has truth in it; wisecracking is simply calisthenics with words." ~Dorothy Parker
