Tangent Frustration, DKA Hits

Well, I've been checking Tangent, the on-line spec-fic review web-site, obsessively more or less forever in the hopes they'd post a review of the issue of DKA (Dragons, Knights and Angels) that my short story, "The Star Inside the Swastika," was published in (Issue 28). Since they've reviewed DKA in the past, it seemed at least possible, and it would be very cool--since to the best of my knowledge, they don't review Walking Bones, it seemed like this was the first chance I'd ever get to see a review of anything I had written.

So, in my ocd way after checking my e-mail, trolling on-line for substitute teaching assignments and all the other things I check compulsively, I checked Tangent today...and they had a review of Issue 29 (February) of DKA, but none of Issue 28 (January). Clicking "next" at the bottom gets you their review of Issue 27 (December). This is deeply, deeply frustrating.

Bah. One piece of consolation, though, is that a glance through DKA's forum index show that "The Star Inside the Swastika" is still by far ahead of the pack at 870 hits, by far beating out everything else listed, some of which have been on-line as far back as September '05. In terms of actual number of people reading, "The New Yorker" (or even one of the big pro genre magazines) it ain't, but 870 people finding the story interesting enough to read through the forum comments (or even 218 people finding it interesting enough to read through the forum comments from four different computers each) isn't nothing.
