Buffalo Gal Judi Griggs I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. 2004-05-21 9:54 AM Meeting Montezuma The weather. The ocean. Tax advantages. Affordable housing. The views. The margaritas.
Charlie had worked in Mexico. I had visited plenty of times. He speaks Spanish. I speak with my hands. We were ready to make the move. So anxious were we to meet with the real estate agent that we started our nine-day California trip with a perfect night at Hotel Califia just south of Rosarita Beach in Baja California. So the agent no showed. And there was no cell phone service. But falling asleep to the sound of the ocean on the rocks and the memories of a great day were enough to convince us this was what we wanted. We were in Beverly Hills the next day when Charlie went down. I made it to Sonoma and Jennine was in LA before we were knocked flat. The rest of the trip consisted of hotel bathrooms and scoring Immodium. The pictures from the first two days are great. The rest is best forgotten. As is the hacienda fantasy.
