I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. Playing Monopoly Part Two: Rule 1 - The Cable Company Always Wins

A couple days ago I wrote about our ongoing battle to get a ridiculously erroneous cable bill corrected.
I have spoken to all variety of "helpdesk" oxymorons and written several emails to the customer care contact point.
In the last one I attached a link to the blog.
That got their attention.
Still no corrected bill, but at 5:15 this morning they cut off my cable and cable modem.
There is, of course, no one at the number that flashed on the screen in lieu of the movie I was watching.
I wasn't asking for an apology or any compensation for all the hours lost on this nonsense.
Just an acurate bill.
Obviously, I deserve to be punished.

PS - Since I'm working on AOL dial up now, I'll have to type much slower.
