Buffalo Gal
Judi Griggs

I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. Touching home

With less than a week left in my groveling month (see Oct 13 blog) I've been emailing my resume to every New York state email address in my book.
The idea was to network.
The execution has been an exercise in proving Thomas Wolfe wrong.
At 21, the age when I left the area, I only had the capacity to look forward to what could be. I was so anxious to step away from bad things, I willingly surrendered far too much good.
In burying the negative, I let the positive fall in the same deep crevice.
Who would have imagined a mass emailing could bring so much good to the surface?
In the past few days I've had long, soul-baring email conversations with wonderful people who I had allowed to slip in to a post script, when they were in fact major players in my story.
Without actually seeking the affirmation, I am now convinced that while the style or circumstance may not be what I wished -- I'm going home.
