Buffalo Gal

I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. Thawing

There is no ice on the roads between the office and apartment and I actually felt like I accomplished something at work today.
Coincidence? I think not.
So maybe it has something to do with an quick trip coming up this weekend, or spending the last two evenings with family, or Charlie heading this way a week from tomorrow... but I'm pretty sure it's the ice.
I recently escorted a sunny clime guest conductor to a media interview. He was so afraid of falling on the ice he barely looked up from his feet. There was actually a bright blue sky that day, but I doubt he saw it.
I've been concentrating on the ice and forgetting that a thaw has to come.
In a couple days we'll be in balmly double digits. By the weekend it will be above freezing at ceertain times during the day.
And yes, the groundhog will likely see his shadow insuring another six weeks of winter.
But you can't cast a shadow without a little sun...
