Buffalo Gal
Judi Griggs

I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. A bigger space

I took Charlie to the airport at 4:30 this morning... and was almost to the airport before we saw another car. It was like having our own personal city quietly waiting to serve.
I came back to the apartment, slept an hour or so and awoke to my new old world. The apartment was considerably larger. Sure I can still touch all four bathroom walls from the commode, but it somehow seemed airy.
At the office I didn't have the distraction of lunch or dinner plans, just got home a few minutes ago and got a great deal done.
He spent the day in transit. Buffalo to almost Atlanta, diverted to Nashville, another Atlanta run and eventually a flight to Brunswick after a three-hour delay. It had only taken him a few more hours to drive the 1,000 miles last time.
At this point neither us us know when he'll next be coming this way or if I'll ever be going that way. The space is huge.
