Buffalo Gal Judi Griggs I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. 2005-03-29 7:13 AM Paleface I've never been the bake 'n bronze type, but 24 years of living in the South established what I thought were permanent tan lines.
Four months of Buffalo winter proved them to be not so permanent after all. I've gone from ruddy to pale to translucent. I fear the next step will leave me like those transparent anatomy figures we had in middle school science. (Did anyone else ditch several organs in the back of the drawer in order to make things fit? I'd forgotten the flashy badge of leisure, the "I went on vacation" winter tan. As co-workers return from island honeymoons and Florida sojourns, I fade deeper into Casperville. This is just wrong. I still have Georgia license plates on my car. It is my legal address. I file taxes there. I'm entitled to a tan. The good news, it will climb into the 60s by the end of the week. The bad, I'm heading to Georgia for four days... and it's been raining there. Copyright 2005 Judi Griggs Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
