Buffalo Gal Judi Griggs I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. 2005-04-09 10:30 AM Creature comforts My bags are packed and by the front door. The cats, being cats, are indifferent. Feigned indifference to everything is their obligation.
But they blew it when I arrived in the wee hours last Sunday. All three of them did haphazard figure eights between my feet when i walked in the door. They followed me to bed where Little Bit slept several hours on my back after a deep tissue paw massage. I know there are healthy, well-adjusted people who live without pets. I just can't imagine joining their ranks. Living petless in my little apartment is like missing an essential nutrient. There was considerable new pup discussion this week. Talking about what we can't have until Charlie finally gets up to Buffalo, but we both need. Rachmaninoff (Rocky) Griggs will be a Chocolate Lab who will exasperate the cats in their efforts to train him. He will be Charlie's best buddy and love riding with the convertible with the top down. He will alternatively amuse and frustrate the hell out of us through his puppy years. And he'll make our new apartment a place where people really live. For now I'd love to stow a cat or two away to warm up my little efficiency, but the place isn't fit for man nor beast... and especially not for such good friends.
