Buffalo Gal Judi Griggs I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. 2005-07-15 11:03 AM Steam heat It's oddly appropriate that during a run of record-setting summer heat I should discover the joys of having a steam setting in the shower.
Yes, I can now swelter indoors and out -- but the former seems to be much better for the pores. Who would have thought pushing one little button that immediately starts to make your shower look like the Phantom's lair... could feel so good. It's not the steam itself but the soothing effect on old bones and cranky muscles. From the time I first saw "Psycho" I was a quick and efficient shower machine... in and out in three minutes tops... no more. I am now a lingerer with open airways and a zen-like peace. Three moves in seven months was a little too much. But it got me to this place. And unless I can take the shower... I'm not leaving.
