Buffalo Gal Judi Griggs I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. 2005-08-05 8:37 AM Sevens all the way Growing up in the gambling household means seeing possibilities and omens everywhere, particularly where none exist. The hit counter on this page was all sevens across when I opened it and my heart unconsciously leapt.
That's got to mean something more than this page has been hit 77,777 times? Right? I mean what are the odds... Reality says the odds are pretty good that the counter will hit 77,777 someday. Kenny (who created this space) is pretty clever. There have been no reports of counters jumping from 77,776 to 77,778. But the gambler's gene pings with possibility. After all, it was I who opened the page at the magic number. I have therefore been selected. Something good must be on the horizon. I am a risk taker in my personal and probably professional life, but I would never purposefully schedule a trip to a casino for the intent purpose of playing slots or table games. I don't have moral objections, when I have the money to amuse myself in that way and others are going, I'm follow along gladly. As cash is tight, that form of amusement is largely off my radar screen. But all those sevens.. it has to mean something.
