I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. Tinged with possibility

Morning came too quickly today. I'm not sure whether it was yesterday's Asian Kiss or Chocolate Martini's that first noticed that Tuesday was going to be entirely too bright.
Given the option, I'd prefer to extend Monday just a few more hours.
Yesterday was filled with ideas, friends, music, good food, and worthwhile endeavors best encapsulated in an email this morning from one of my fellow celebrants.
"I had a blast."
A high-energy meeting on a charity project, dinner with my favorite graphic designer, music and drinks with the Monday night crew -- all make me feel like they miscounted the candles on my birthday cake last week.
Finally, there really are checks in the mail and the teasing, but increasing, possibility of good things ahead. Although I was too busy working to notice, the long winter and spring produced a bumper crop of possibilities.
When I opened the blinds in my office this morning, I noticed the leaves on the maple tree top right outside the window are now slightly tinged with fall.
Change is in the air.
