Buffalo Gal
Judi Griggs

I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. Nyquil knight

The scratchy throat started yesterday afternoon and from that point it was a race to get through the afternoon business presentation before thick red slashes of fever appeared across my cheeks.
I know this drill - 48 hours of misery followed by a few "walking wounded" days of recovery. Food has no flavor, but you eat something to absorb the Nyquil.
So it's my turn to wear sweats for Valentines' Day --accessorized with fuzzy socks and droopy eyelids.
I called in sick this morning ( actually emailed - my voice is largely gone).
I haven't turned the TV on yet, but the "big storm" forecasted doesn't look half bad from our front yard. Still, it's a good day to stay in-- unless you're the spouse who has to go out and get Nyquil.
Charlie sent roses that arrived at the office yesteday because the florist accelerated deliveries in front of the storm.
Roses yesterday. Nyquil today.
What more could a gal want?
