Not that this is news to any of YOU, but I've realized that I'm not very good at being a spectator.

This past weekend was what I termed the "Wedding Extravaganza."

Phil's brother was getting married. As a result we had a relatively small (12 people) dinner to attend Friday night, the bridal shower (due to so many friends/family being from out of town) which I helped throw Saturday morning, a larger family and out of town guest dinner Saturday night, and the wedding itself Sunday afternoon/evening.

When we got to the hotel for the wedding, I ran the gift up to the bridal suite-as it was something for them for the evening after the wedding. After dropping it off, I asked if the bride wanted me to stay and received an emphatic yes. So I did. Throughout the course of the afternoon and evening I did a bunch of stuff. Basically I saw stuff that needed to be done and did it, or was asked by the bride and groom to do X, Y, and Z. I didn't get to everything before they did, for example the DJ, but it worked out fine in the end.

I enjoy helping out and it usually is appreciated, but it does tend to tire me out. I know I'm capable of just relaxing and being the spectator like I did at LAST week's wedding, but more often than not, I end up helping out. I think this is also why I enjoyed stage managing.

OK, just an observation to share for the evening.
