Today was the UH luncheon where I was the "featured speaker". Public speaking is easy for me, always has been. Just don't think much about it. Sat with the Dean whom I like very much.......was on the alumni board when he arrived. Married now to a die-hard bleed-red-and-white-UH-alum, I now have even more appreciation for my talks with Dean C. Hopefully, I inspired at least a couple of those incoming students to consider the field of gerontology for their studies. They had a number of substansive questions, esp. about the White House Conference.

Spent the afternoon with Mother moving more of her things from storage to her retirement apartment. We had a good time at the grocery store. She holds on to the basket now as she's fairly unstable but when she can hold something that has a little weight (ex. plastic bottle of detergent)in each hand, she will tottle off ahead twisting around to proudly show me how well she can walk when she's "carrying something heavy".
