Been sailing the last two days on Kevin's and Holly's sailboat, the Grey Goose. I remember how much and how long Kevin wanted to sail. I watch him now, filled with knowledge and confidence, and realize again my fortune at seeing someone I love realize their dream. He and Holly have gone to sailing school and have become competent sailors who enjoy life so much together.

The Grey Goose is 35ft of seaworthy fun! And so comfortable I could have slept in the forward berth much longer when Holly woke me to say we were going ashore in the dingy for breakfast. We sailed from the West River to Chesapeake Bay to Severn Bay to Shaw Creek where Annapolis is located. The Naval Academy is a formidable, regal structure stretching across green lawns, running tracks and sturdy academic buildings. Walking around the town of Annapolis, the sense of history was almost palpable. We explored the Maryland state capitol building; I hadn't realized that Annapolis was the capitol of the U.S. for almost one year way back when.

Last night we ate a four course meal at the Chart House that rated five star plus for food, service and ambiance. Took the river taxi back to our ball to board the Grey Goose and call it a night. After fun shopping, we sailed back today, wind up and Grey Goose leaning hard. After lunch at Pirate's Cove, we left Holly and Kevin so they could return to their boat and we could head back to their house to repack, clean up and get ready for the baptism tomorrow morning. Always love being with Kevin and Holly and this time was, while different, as special as always.
