After church, we drove out to have lunch with Mother. Running errands on the way back, we decided to stop in at the SPCA and just make sure they weren't holding Willie in the Lost and Found kennel. Just looking for Willie, we said. Right. As we walked through, we noticed one calm and beautiful dog lying quietly in her corner kennel. Dogs were barking and pandemonium reigned, however this lovely girl wasn't making a sound. I tried to keep walking but noticed Bill was turning into a 6 yr old boy right in front of my eyes! A 6 yr old boy who had just fallen in love with a soft-furred, big-eyed, part Collie, part Golden Retriever dog.

On the way over there Bill had asked for reassurance that I didn’t want to get another dog......"We're not getting a dog, right? I just want us to be in agreement on that. We're just looking for Willie." Agreed. Now I was standing there trying to keep moving and he kept saying, "If you want her, you better say so. There seems to be a number of folks here who want her if you don't and she's only been here less than one day. So if you want......" Big smile on his face.

So meet Lexy, the newest member of our family. We start Obedience School tomorrow evening at the training school near our house. The dogs will join the owners for the rest of the course but the first evening is for "parents" only.

P.S. Bill was up and had taken Lexy for her morning walk before I even opened my eyes :)
