2006-09-22 10:36 AM Catchin' up: Part One Read/Post Comments (2) |
Life has prevailed these last several weeks, but I’m back now to my journal. Here’s a few of the reasons why I’ve been preoccupied. Quick catch-up:
• My friend John opened his new Christian Recovery Center out in the suburbs this week. Drove out to their opening to offer congrats and see the place. John and friend Robert plan to include adolescent treatment which is super rare these days. I actually know a male therapist who won’t “let one in his waiting room”, speaking of teens. Really hard to find treatment for adolescents. • Bill C’s birthday party allowed friends to party once more and new friends joined us. Love meeting new people and hearing their histories. All the work he's done on his house looks great. • Had to open new bank accounts here in town as new hubby really doesn’t think he ought to have to drive 25 minutes to my old stomping ground to talk to our banker. Drat. If you’ve ever had to manage closing a very active account while opening another, you know what I mean. Pray I don’t get anything crossed up here. • Gave my presentation on AAUW’s Global Efforts and International Positions at the area-wide Interbranch meeting – seemed well-received. • Had landscapers redoing some areas. Seem they only show up when they want – not when they scheduled. Gets chaotic when they show up on a different day and right when I’m leaving for work. Will redo all the color in the beds in a few weeks – don’t expect those caladiums to last much longer. Am relieved to get those palms in pots planted down into the ground around the pool finally. • Jazz Communion at church last Sunday was awesome! Meaning no disrespect for the other holidays, it is my FAVORITE Sunday worship! Love it when we’re movin' and groovin' and singin’ to the music! • Got both Public Policy columns written and turned in to the two organizations. Another due now to another publication. • Our Wild Wacky Women of Wednesday group tried another new restaurant this week – Mockingbird Bistro. Good food, great location, ridiculous prices. • Great Grandparents Day – got some new photos! I have the world’s best grandchildren; 8 of them. • Love the monthly Family Law Dinner – get to see many new friends, eat great food at the hotel and hear good speakers. Okay, so what if I don’t fully understand the talk on summary rights judgments – still love the company. • Got to see my new husband “on the bench” this week. First time I’ve been in the courtroom when he was presiding. Cool. He still needs to take the trash out. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
