2006-09-23 6:12 PM Catchin' up: Part Two Read/Post Comments (1) |
Okay, to continue my thoughts, the main reason I've been neglecting my journal is this: four weeks ago I became the ONLY professional facilitating the substance abuse evaluations for family courts in our county. So I’ve been seeing ALL these folks for evaluations that last about two hours each and take another nearly two hours to write up and get back to all attorneys of record and the court prior to the next scheduled hearing date. How does this work? Well, folks going through the divorce process or seeking to modify a child custody agreement or the like in the family courts sometimes point an accusing (of substance abuse) finger at the other party at which point the other party (and sometimes them when the finger gets pointed back) get to come spend time with me. So do the math. Four hours per person, 20 persons in last two weeks = 80 hours. Add that to my already very full personal schedule, then add in my regular work schedule and you’ve got someone who can’t get to her journal!
So the good news is that another therapist stepped forward this week to help out so I can start referring some of these clients over to her. I'm still looking at a fully scheduled next 10 days of these folks but for awhile I was having to schedule callers four weeks out. So that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. Things should begin to return to a decent pace soon. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
